January 4, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

VA DARS, Ticket to Work Partnership Plus, 1619B, and Medicaid Works
Presenter: David Leon, Ticket to Work Manager, VA DARS
The Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency program (TTW) was designed to both increase investment in return-to-work services, and improves the efficiency of that investment in meeting the needs of beneficiaries. The program offers beneficiaries more choice in obtaining services and gives employment-support service providers new financial incentives to serve beneficiaries effectively. (Ticket to Work at the Crossroads: A Solid Foundation with an Uncertain Future) Utilizing the Ticket to Work and Partnership Plus creates additional resources for State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (SVRA) clients and service providers. People with disabilities are considerably more likely to experience poverty relative to those without disabilities. The Ticket to Work program is a path out of poverty!
The objective of this session is to present an overview of Vocational Rehabilitation and points of contact for each DSS office, provide functional definitions of Ticket to Work and Partnership Plus, and describe the Virginia Model.
