EFMP Resource Fair – April 18, 2023

Members of the Trust Team will be onhand to answer your questions and provide information on our Special Needs Trust program.

The goal of this event is to allow our Families to gain an awareness of the resources for their loved ones in their surrounding area. The Exceptional Family Member Program at Fort Belvoir is a program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, medical, educational and personal services to families with special needs.

The month of April has been recognized as a special opportunity to educate the public about Autism and issues within the Autism community. According to The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Autism is defined as “a range of complex neurodevelopment disorders, characterized by social impairments, communication difficulties, and restricted, repetitive, and stereotyped patterns of behavior.” There is no known single cause of Autism, but increased awareness can help many of families today.

The individuals participating will be our Soldiers, family and caregivers of our Exceptional Family members.
